Why it matters

There are too many people in our region who will go without a Christmas meal this year, who won’t be able to afford to buy a gift for their loved ones or who will spend the day alone.

Every year, Samaritans supports thousands of people in need in our region. People in our community who can’t afford food, utilities, and basic living needs.

Sadly, emotional and financial struggles become more intense during the festive season, and often it’s harder to get support.

How your sponsorship will help

Samaritans has been hosting a Christmas Lunch in the Park for those in need for more than 20 years. It’s the only event of its kind in the region.

It is designed specifically for those who can’t afford to celebrate Christmas or who would otherwise spend the day alone.

Everyone who attends enjoys a festive Christmas lunch, a gift and a sense of community.

This event is not possible without the generosity of our sponsors and the kindness of more than 120 volunteers.
