Newcastle Lunch in the Park
Now in its 24th year, Christmas Lunch in the Park by Samaritans is the region's largest and longest running Christmas Day event. We aim to offer individuals and families experiencing homelessness, disadvantage or loneliness, much needed compassion on Christmas Day.
The event will be held again at Foreshore Park, Newcastle on Christmas Day and there are a number of special volunteer roles available.
Christmas Eve Lunch at Singleton
On Christmas Eve we host a special gathering and a festive meal at All Saints Anglican Church Parish Hall, Bishopsgate Street, Singleton.
The event runs from 11am - 2pm and we are looking for volunteers to assist us.
Working With Children Check
Samaritans requires all our volunteers to complete a free Working With Children Check (WWCC).
This step is an important part of Samaritans volunteering policy and is necessary for all volunteers, including those who only volunteer with us for a short time.
You may already have a WWCC number and if so, please provide your number when completing our volunteer registration form.
